[photo of the day] Rainbow over Lake Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland
It was a lovely day in Switzerland as we walked around Lake Geneva! The water of the Jet d’eau and the sun created a beautiful rainbow. It was so nice seeing the whole rainbow. So lovely!
View from the Eiffel Tower of Paris, Paris, France
Ever since I first came to Paris, I’ve always thought that it’s such a beautiful city. We went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and as we waited for the sun to set, we got a great view of all the city, with the Sacre Couer in the distance. Lovely!
Beautiful Fuschia Flowers, Burford, Cotswolds, England, United Kingdom
My oh my! It has been a while! When my family came to visit me in Europe, they started their trip in the UK. We went to visit the beautiful Cotswolds and were very lucky that it was a nice sunny day. On a small stop on our day trip from London, we stopped in […]
Murals of Belfast, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
Belfast is a very interesting city, the capital of Northern Ireland, a group of 6 counties on the island of Ireland, but a part of the United Kingdom. It’s a city affected by decades of “the Troubles” and a still present divide between nationalists and unionists, between Protestants and Catholics. We took a black cab […]
On The Road: Late Arrivals into Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris
Paris, here we are! Lesson learned: If you get into Charles de Gaulle airport after 11pm…be ready to take a taxi into city centre! The last train left at 10:55, and the buses stop around then too. It took us lots of walking around the airport to figure this out, especially getting different information from […]
City Guide: Paris, France
From the first time I arrived in Paris years ago, it has remained as my favorite city in Europe. There’s just something about it. I finally returned in December 2011 after years of not visiting and while the weather wasn’t great (cold, windy and rainy), the city was just as lovely and I got quite […]
Trip: Southern Spain (Andalucía Region)
España es muy bonita! I was glad to be able to visit a part of Spain that I haven’t been to before. My winter break had just ended the day before, I attended a holiday party and didn’t sleep so I could make my 6am flight! What a day! Overall great trip! More details to […]
[City Guide] Granada, Spain
Ah, Granada was one of my favorite places in Southern Spain – up there with Barcelona in all of Spain. This whole region is characterized by a mix of Islamic and Christian architecture and this can be seen all over town! I’ve been taking my Spanish class so I tried to speak Spanish as much […]
Inside the Nasrid Palaces, Alhambra, Granada, Spain
Over winter break, I also went to the Andalusian region of Spain. It was very beautiful and I attempted to practice my Spanish! My favorite city of the 4 (Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla) was definitely Granada. While there, we definitely had to visit the Alhambra. Our ticket to the Alhambra gave us a time slot […]
Penny Lane, Liverpool, England, United Kingdom
Gosh, it has been a while since I’ve last blogged! This past weekend I visited Manchester and Liverpool. I love the Beatles, so a day trip to Liverpool sounded like a great idea. We visited the Beatles Story museum, and took the Magical Mystery tour around Liverpool to places like childhood homes and schools. One […]
